How do agents communicate?

Gemini CLI runs a single agent; no direct agent-to-agent communication. (Google ADK is a separate framework offering SequentialAgent/ParallelAgent + shared session state and the A2A protocol, but a Gemini CLI skill doesn't include it.)

Connection types (click an edge to change)

delegate — chief calls the agent via the Agent tool; result returns automatically
parallel — chief → launches concurrently, isolated
handoff — passes output to the next
report-to — returns result to the chief
shared — coordinates via a shared file

Gemini CLI reads context from GEMINI.md. Actions are .gemini/commands/*.toml commands; an extension is defined by gemini-extension.json. Gemini runs as a single agent + tools/MCP.
